Cleaning After Water Damage
1/3/2020 (Permalink)
Yes, it seems like an inexpensive option for a homeowner to clean up water damage from a pipe or flooding within their home or business, but what a homeowner does not think about is what would happen if the home is improperly dried.
Here at SERVPRO of Thomas, Colquitt & Grady Counties, we have equipment that detects moisture inside of walls, floors and ceilings. This means it may look dry to the naked eye, but there is actually trapped moisture within the structure. This equipment allows us to clean up and dry water that you can and cannot see.
If a homeowner decides to clean up the water with a shop-vac and some towels, it may wind up growing mold and having a musty odor. Not to mention, water that is not dried up can lead to structural damage of a building. The cleanup process would end up being much more expensive in the long run without calling a professional.
Remember that it is free for us to come out and investigate any water problems a home may be having. Give us a call at 229-236-1902 with any questions or concerns you may have.
